1. Overview and Operator Identity

This website (halloween.chat) is operated by Directory Platform Operations LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), operating the Halloween.chat verified directory platform.

2. No Tracking Cookies & Privacy by Default

We respect your privacy. Halloween.chat does not use tracking cookies, cross-site trackers, or third-party behavioral profiling scripts. Browsing the directory and public licensing records is entirely anonymous.

Outbound referral links: ticket links that leave the directory for a venue website may carry standard UTM referral parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) so the venue can identify the visit as referred. These parameters are attached to the outbound URL only; they do not track your browsing on this site.

3. Information We Collect

Location Searches: When you enter a city, ZIP code, or address into search, the query is processed solely to retrieve matching public license records within the selected radius. Search queries are not linked to your personal identity.

Device Geolocation: If you explicitly choose to use the "Allow precise location" button, your browser's Geolocation coordinates are used strictly in real-time to locate nearby listings. Location coordinates are never sold or retained.

Saved location (Hountix): When you choose "Use my precise location", your browser stores a first-party cookie named hx_loc holding your coordinates rounded to about 1 km, so later pages can list the closest haunts. It stays on your device for up to 30 days, is not used for advertising, and is removed when you press "Forget" or clear your cookies.

Waitlist Notifications: If your city is not yet open and you submit your email address to the "Notify me when my city opens" waitlist, we store your email address and requested location solely for sending you an alert when verified licensing coverage opens in your area.

4. Public Licensing Records

Halloween.chat publishes verified information derived directly from public licensing databases maintained by official municipal, state, and regulatory authorities. Inquiries regarding business records should be directed to the respective regulatory agency or to us for corrections.
